Biography:
ATELIERDACOSTA guides its practice by an honest and informed search in order to answer to each individual request. Created and drafted by the client but frequently completed side by side with us, the request is regarded as a first form of expression of a culture and sensitivity in space, and becomes a primary instrument for testing the project's solutions. There is no project that does not raise the memory of what is already built. Constructing is, before anything else, repeating, repeating through change, repeating through updating... Continuity in construction is the condition making each project a work which crosses time. Our atelier is from the coast because this is where it started- on the coast, on the coast line - to deploy its works. Plans overlap in this territory drawn by a line, and no project can be the same, because no detail, or in this case request, is the same.
